Bridging the gap between space and terrestrial markets
The role of ESA Technology Brokers
ESA Technology Brokers play a crucial role in facilitating the transfer of technology between space and non-space industries for commercial purposes.
They take a two-pronged approach:
Solving industrial challenges on Earth with space technology:
ESA Technology Brokers identify and apply space-developed technologies that can address problems in non-space sectors. For example, using sensors miniaturised and ruggedised for space use to develop medical diagnostic devices.
Bringing terrestrial innovations into space:
ESA Technology Brokers help companies adapt cutting-edge terrestrial technologies for use in space applications. This includes innovations in fields such as robotics, AI and quantum technologies, that can benefit space missions or satellite operations.
